Mometasone/Nasonex/Sinuva may reduce the formation, release, and activity of inflammatory mediators such as kinins, histamine and prostaglandins. Reduces cell migration to the affected area and reverses the dilation and blood vessel permeability result in decreased access of cells to the site.

Mometasone/Nasonex/Sinuva is officially indicated for allergic rhinitis, or nasal polyps.  It may also be prescribed off-label for rhinosinusitis. (may be used for conditions not listed)

Before starting Mometasone/Nasonex/Sinuva make sure your physician is aware of any allergies or medications you currently are taking, if you have severe liver disease, cataracts, glaucoma, an active infection, are pregnant or breastfeeding.

2 sprays in each nostril once or twice a day (each spray contains 50mcg of mometasone)

How to Take: Follow instructions provided by physician/pharmacy label, use consistently at same times each day unless otherwise directed, store at room temperature and shake before use.  May need to prime the pump by using a few times until a fine mist appears.  Aim away from septum and lightly sniff as you spray.

You Need to Avoid: Avoid contact with eyes. 

Headache, viral infection, nosebleed, pharyngitis

1. Why am I getting nose bleeds since starting use of this medication and what can I do about them?
   This medication can thin the mucosal tissues in your nostrils resulting in higher risk of nose bleeds.  Generally, when they occur it is recommended to stop use for a week then reinitiate therapy if needed.  If this does not solve the issue speak to your physician about your options.
