Doxylamine blocks histamine H1 receptors on effector cells in the chemoreceptive trigger zone of the brain, decreases vestibular stimulation, and labyrinthine function of the inner ear through its anticholinergic action thereby reducing nausea.

Pyridoxine (vitamin B6) is a precursor to pyridoxal which is important in metabolism, the release of glycogen for energy, and in the synthesis of GABA in the central nervous system and heme for red blood cells.  

Doxylamine+Pyridoxine/Diclectin/Diclegis is indicated for nausea and vomiting associated with pregnancy

Before starting Doxylamine+Pyridoxine/Diclectin/Diclegis make sure your physician is aware of any allergies or medications you currently take, if you have asthma, urinary bladder neck obstruction, glaucoma, a peptic ulcer, or a pyloroduodenal obstruction. 

Each tablet contains 10mg of doxylamine and 10mg of pyridoxine and daily dosage is 2-4 tablets divided into 3 daily dosages, starting with 2 tablets before bedtime then adding morning and afternoon if symptoms unresolved.  Should be taken as scheduled and not on an as needed basis for maximum effect.

How to Take: Follow instructions provided by physician/pharmacy label, swallow whole, take consistently at same times each day on an empty stomach unless otherwise directed, store at room temperature.

You Need to Avoid: Operating heavy machinery or driving at least until you know how the medication affects you.  Make sure your physician is aware of any other medications you are on and do not mix with any other CNS depressants such as alcohol.
