Amcinonide is a highly potent corticosteroid that exhibits anti-inflammatory, antipruritic and vasoconstrictive properties.  Amcinonide suppresses the production and release of endogenous chemical mediators of inflammation (kinins, histamine, liposomal enzymes, prostaglandins) through the induction of phospholipase A2 inhibitory proteins (lipocortins) and sequential inhibition of the release of arachidonic acid.

Relief of the inflammatory and pruritic manifestations of corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses (high potency corticosteroid).

Before starting Amcinonide make sure your physician is aware of any allergies or medications you currently take.  The usage of Amcinonide can cause hypercortisolism or suppression of hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis, contact dermatitis, Kaposi’s sarcoma, Cushing’s syndrome, hyperglycemia.

Topical: Apply a thin film and rub into the affected areas 2 to 3 times daily.

The frequency and incidence of side effects is not well defined but do include:

Localized burning, acne vulgaris, allergic dermatitis, atrophic striae, folliculitis, hypopigmentation, local dryness, maceration of the skin, miliaria, pruritus, skin atrophy, telangiectasia.

Note this is not a complete list of side effects for Amcinonide only common ones.

1. Can I apply other topicals at the same time to the same area?
   It is not recommended to do so as applying multiple products can result in dilution of either product thereby potentially decreasing efficacy.  Space out applications of other topicals by a few hours unless directed otherwise by your health care professional.
