Rosacea is a chronic and relapsing inflammatory skin disorder that generally affects the face. The skin effected by rosacea will typically include facial redness, telangiectasia and inflammatory papules and pustules. However, the eye lid margins can also be affected which can lead to eye irritation, lid margin telangiectases and other signs and symptoms. Unfortunately, there is no cure for rosacea and the best course of treatment is to focus on suppressing the signs and symptoms. Given the presence of multiple different features seen in patients with rosacea, combination therapy along with avoidance of triggers of flushing and sun protection may be necessary to control the skin disease 4-6.
