How Does It Work

L-Carnitine is a naturally occurring metabolic compound that functions as a carrier molecule for long-chain fatty acids within the mitochondria, facilitating intracellular energy production and fatty acid oxidation. A deficiency in L-Carnitine is associated with an accumulation of excess acyl CoA esters and a disruption in intermediary metabolism.

Indications For Use

Officially indicated for carnitine deficiency of various causes. It is sometimes also used off-label as a dietary supplement to assist in weight loss/fat burning, improve energy and endurance capacity, to improve lean body composition however evidence for this is weak.

Precautions

Do not use in patients a hypersensitivity to L-Carnitine or any components of its formulation

There are no contraindications

Usual Dosing

Injectable: According to the prescribed directions of a licensed medical doctor.

Usual: Inject 100mcg-1000mcg intramuscularly weekly to three times weekly for energy and fat metabolism.

L-Carnitine is a Lipotropic Injection: Lipotropic injects help improve fax oxidation and lipolysis and have been used to release fat deposits from the abdomen, inner thighs, neck, buttocks, and hips.

L-Carnitine Should Be Discontinued: If you develop a rash; hives; itching; shortness of breath; wheezing; cough; swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat; or any other symptoms involved immediately discontinue the medication and seek medical assistance immediately.

L-Carnitine Should be Stored: Store this medication at 68°F to 77°F (20°C to 25°C) and away from heat, moisture, and light. Keep all medicine out of the reach of children. Throw away any unused medicine after the beyond use date. Do not flush unused medications or pour down a sink or drain.

Side Effects

The frequency of side effects has not been determined but the following have been reported:
